This official Admiralty photograph shows a group of officers in the wardroom of a destroyer. The relationship of officers to their living quarters was quite different from that experienced by the lower ranks. Officers were not responsible for cleaning or maintaining spaces such as these, and stewards were on hand to serve drinks.
