Charlotte Grant (BA, MA, PhD) is Senior Research Fellow at the Centre. She studied English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, did an MA in History of Art at the Courtauld, and then completed her PhD in the English Department at Cambridge. Her PhD focused on visual aspects of the eighteenth-century literary culture of sensibility. Between 1995 and taking up her post at the Centre, she was College Lecturer and Director of Studies in English at Jesus College, Cambridge. She is co-editor of Women, Writing and the Public Sphere, 1680-1830 (Cambridge, 2001), and editor of Flora, volume 4 of Literature and Science 1660-1832 (Pickering and Chatto, forthcoming 2002). Her current research interests lie in links between literature and material culture, both in eighteenth-century Britain and in mid twentieth-century Britain and America. Dr Grant will lead a future Focused Study.
